10. THSR 700T, 186.4mph, Taiwan

The train started its service on 5th January 2007 between Kaohsiung and Taipei city. THSR shorten the journey from 4.30 hours to 90 minutes to reach the destination. It reaches its speed from 0 to highest one in just 15minutes.

The train built in Japan by the consortium of three companies-Hitachi, Nippon Sharyo, and Kawasaki heavy industries having a capacity of 923 seats in standard class and 66 seats in business class.

9. ETR 500 Frecciarossa Train, 186.4mph, Italy

This train is the fastest train service in Italy with a maximum speed of 186.4mph operated by Trenitalia Company and built by a consortium of AnsaldoBreda, Bombardier, and Alstom manufacturing companies.

The train is a modernized version of the ETR 500 Italian high-speed train. This train is totally soundproof and offers free Wi-Fi.

8. SNCF TGV Duplex, 198.8mph, France

This train can achieve a maximum speed of 198.8mph at a time which is the fastest one in France. This train operates by the SNCF railway company and started the service in December 2011.

7. Alstom Euroduplex, 198.8mph, France

It has three classes–standard (658seats), green (55seats), and gran classes (18seats).

This high-speed train can achieve a maximum speed of 217.7mph at a time. It’s known as ‘PATO’ in Spain, named after its duck beak like the design from the front.

Velaro train named as AVS 103 in Spain. During its trial, it achieved a top speed of 250.83mph.

The train manufactured by the German engineering company Siemens, the Spanish version of E-high speed trains runs between the Barcelona to Madrid in just 2.30 hours.

In commercial service, this train can achieve a maximum speed of 236.12mph. The train has a capacity of 494 passengers at a time and has a low weight aluminum alloy body.

1. Shanghai Maglev, 267.8 mph, China

It’s a magnetic levitation train that runs from Longyang Road station in Pudong to Pudong International airport. The train began construction on 1 March 2001 and start public service commercial on 1 January 2014.

The complete distance is 30 km and at full speed, a train takes 7 minutes 20 seconds to reach the other end. It can reach 217mph in just 2 minutes, with a maximum speed of 268 mph.
