That\u2019s something you won\u2019t accomplish with generic comments and half-hearted compliments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"comment\">6. Comment on their blog posts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting directly on another blogger\u2019s article can have a higher chance of piquing their interest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, just because a blogger is popular on Facebook, doesn\u2019t mean they get lots of reactions on their actual blog. In addition, some bloggers are more likely to respond to their blog comments than those on social media.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why? But emails simply feel more personal, considering they take more effort to make.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can do the same by sending an email to a blogger with the title:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">\u201c<strong>RE: [Their Blog Post Title]\u201d<\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing your appreciation for the content is enough to put you on their radar. If you want to make a lasting impression, provide suggestions or, if possible, corrections to the post in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This is a gesture that says you really care about their blog.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And as a blogger who received the same kind of response from readers, I\u2019m truly grateful for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"featurethem\">8. Feature them on your own blog<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Responding to posts on social media is easy, but it doesn\u2019t always earn you new blogger buddies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Don\u2019t be too hard on yourself.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind that you\u2019re probably not the only person reacting to a popular blogger\u2019s posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If reaching out through social media isn\u2019t working for you, it\u2019s time to step up your game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I\u2019m talking about featuring them on your blog.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t have to make the entire article about them. Simply cite something they said, be it on social media or their website, to get their attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some of the things you can mention on your blog are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A case study they conducted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A quote from their content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Something they tweeted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also feature an infographic they published on their blog as long as you formally tell them about it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Send them an email that informs them about the infographic and how you intended to use it. Interview them<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I recommend performing this step once you\u2019ve made contact with the other blogger on social media.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your prospect knows who you are and what you do, you can take on a more direct approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>One of the things you should try is writing an interview post.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know from experience that an invitation to do an interview is definitely attention-grabbing. Of course, it must align with the expertise of your prospective interviewees.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plan how you\u2019ll conduct the interview \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Conducting interviews face-to-face is the best way to do it, but it\u2019s not always possible. Write a \u201ctop bloggers\u201d article<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get the attention of multiple bloggers at the same time by publishing a list of top bloggers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This strategy has a few advantages over writing an interview post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For one, there\u2019s no need for intense planning since you don\u2019t need permission to include anyone on your list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Secondly, listicles are really easy to make.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t even need to think too hard to give your post a title. Network using the Skyscraper Technique&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Experienced bloggers should already be familiar with Brian Dean\u2019s \u201cSkyscraper Technique.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If not, there\u2019s only a couple of things you should know about it.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Skyscraper Technique involves looking for old but popular content and writing something significantly better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It also involves reaching out to potential link sources to present the much-improved content.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That, in turn, will put your blog on the map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To execute the Skyscraper Technique, start by looking for popular content that could use some improvements. Which parts of the article can be converted into an infographic?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Meaningful content length \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Can you write something longer without resorting to fluff? Did the original content miss something important that readers should know?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overall content quality \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Is the original post easy to read, or can it be improved? Were there enough subheadings and lists that improve readability?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly, you need to reach out to the same bloggers who linked to the original post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sending a personalized email that explains your intentions is recommended.
