Conclusion<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"intro\">\u201cWhat do you do for a living?\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When I contemplate how bloggers introduce themselves, I\u2019m not just thinking about&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/masterblogging.com\/how-to-write-about-me-page\/\" data-lasso-id=\"2454\">writing an \u201cAbout Me\u201d page<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, I often felt awkward and weird when talking about my profession to friends and relatives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Despite trying to describe blogging as accurately as I can, I almost never liked how people responded:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some respond with a half-hearted \u201coh, cool!\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Others respond with a confused look on their face.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A few respond with a barrage of questions that make the conversation even more uncomfortable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Worst of all, some people respond with a very devastating question: \u201cWhy don\u2019t you try getting a real job?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>#FacePalm<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"621\" height=\"402\" src=\"https:\/\/masterblogging.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/FacePalm.jpg\" alt=\"Blogging Job Meme\" class=\"wp-image-4049088\" srcset=\"https:\/\/masterblogging.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/FacePalm.jpg 621w, https:\/\/masterblogging.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/FacePalm-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 621px) 100vw, 621px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><em>That\u2019s why I disliked the question \u201c<strong>what do you do for a living?<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a lot of people, it\u2019s just a simple question. But for bloggers who are yet to make money online, it can be discouraging \u2013 especially with how people respond.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how\">How I introduce myself now<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Eventually, I decided to brush the doubt aside.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I realized that to be a successful blogger, I should feel confident when talking about what I do.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t<div class=\"ss-ctt-wrapper ss-ctt-style-2\" data-ss-post-id=\"4049087\" data-nonce=\"88c42e4445\">\n\n\t\t\t<a first piece of advice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"focus\">Focus on what you do, not what you\u2019re called<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When I get asked about my job now, I don\u2019t just say \u201cI\u2019m a blogger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I say, \u201cI help people build a profitable online business through authority building strategies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The key difference between the two answers is the FOCUS.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the first one focuses on a title, the other focuses on a goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here \u2013 let me give you a template:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" through&nbsp;<strong>[your unique method]<\/strong>.<\/em>&#8220;<\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That will be your credo.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>It is the one-liner that you\u2019ll use to introduce yourself on social media and in person.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You still have a few things to do if you want to incorporate this into a proper blog introduction. But for now, let\u2019s get your one-liner introduction ready.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All you have to do is answer four simple questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Who is your target audience?&nbsp;<\/strong>If you\u2019re new to blogging, targeting a narrow niche is better than casting a wide net. You can analyze your current readers or use&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/masterblogging.com\/how-to-choose-blog-niche\/\" data-lasso-id=\"2455\">this comprehensive guide<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>to figure out who you should be targeting.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What will you help them with?<\/strong>&nbsp;What are the goals that your blog aims to help them with? The more specific and clear the objective, the better.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What is an old method that you think isn\u2019t enough?<\/strong>&nbsp;This line makes your introduction more impactful since you\u2019re mentioning something people are probably already familiar with. Think of something that everyone is already doing, but usually isn\u2019t enough to get results.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What is your unique method?&nbsp;<\/strong>Finally, you need to coin an original term that encapsulates your value propositions. It should be a framework that guides how you set blogging goals, like \u201cAuthority-Driven Blogging.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll give you a few minutes to come up with answers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re done, plug them into the template I shared with you earlier.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you\u2019re in the weight loss niche, you can go with something like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><div class=\"content-box-gray\"><em>\u201cI help&nbsp;<strong>stay-at-home professionals<\/strong>&nbsp;achieve their&nbsp;<strong>ideal body<\/strong>&nbsp;not only with exercises, but through&nbsp;<strong>dynamic diet planning.<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have your one-liner ready, it\u2019s time to fashion it into different types of introductions based on the situation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"blog\">1. What about to total strangers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Believe it or not, it\u2019s actually less awkward to introduce yourself to strangers instead of people you know.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People tend to be more careful with how they respond in such conversations. I write about men\u2019s shoes, corporate style, grooming&nbsp;<strong>(how exactly will readers benefit?)<\/strong>.\u201d<\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"interview\">5. I blog about blogging&nbsp;<strong>(just a bad introduction across the board)<\/strong>.\u201d&nbsp;<\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"additionaltips\">Additional tips when introducing yourself&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Feeling more confident in yourself now?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you head out there, remember that no two social interactions are exactly the same.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In most cases, utilizing your one-liner is enough to turn any conversation into a comfortable and meaningful one.
