As we entered a new year, I still wasn’t sure if we would be able to take our annual Family vacation.
My job routine was crazy hectic and my elder brother had joined new Job. Back in January I wasn’t even sure if I would get more than a week off. God works in mysterious ways. As time went by, my workplace went through major restructuring and HR policies changed as well. Suddenly I had the option of taking 15 days paid leaves. And even better all my friends had their office break at more or less the same time.
I had my heart set on Uttarakhand. When I shared this with my Family and , they were on board immediately. We all enjoy Yoga and adventure, so for us Uttarakhand seemed like a great destination.
I was able to bag cheap Train tickets to Dehradun for all the Friends due to the accumulated miles in my account and let’s just say a bit of luck. It was like destiny wanted me to take this vacation.
Visiting Uttarakhand is one of the best decisions I have taken and I am sure you will love it too.
We stayed at the 7 Oak Hotel in Mussoorie. And I would give it a 9 out of 10 based on my experience. Since it is not an expensive hotel, don’t expect too many luxuries. The rooms are clean and the service good, what else can a budget traveler want? I loved that the hotel was close to major tourist attractions in the city.
We particularly enjoyed the Camel’s Back Road, Lal Tibba, Kempty Falls, Gun Hill and Mussoorie Christ Church. It was also fun just roaming around in the hustling and bustling streets of mall road,Mussoorie. If you are into shopping, then you will enjoy even more.
Any vacation is incomplete without a bit of adventure. And Rishikesh offers most thrilling white water rafting experience. You can do fun activities like Rishikesh River Rafting and camping in this diverse and fun yoga city.
This Lake city is one of the main reasons why I chose Uttarakhand as our vacation destination. It is amazing how much history the city boasts. Nainital is full of pristine lakes, picturesque landscapes and enjoyable weather that attracts Indian and international tourists alike. The places to visit near the Lakecity are ideal for rejuvenating and exploring oneself through nature.
Jim Corbett National Park
There is no shortage of Wildlife sites in Uttarakhand either. Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India and was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. The Dhikala and BIjrani Zone were my two personal favorite Wildlife sites in the State. Jim Corbett Park also has a variety of good Resorts. Some of the best Resorts are, The Den Resort, Aahana Resort and Namah.
Touring Uttarakhand turned out to be better than I expected. Its culture and surroundings are unique and exciting.
I would definitely recommend it to all travelers around the world.
